Eagles Nest Wilderness

Located in the White River and the Arapaho National Forests in Colorado.

The Eagles Nest wilderness encompasses 133,688 acres on the White River and Araphoe National Forests. Elevations within the wilderness range from 7,850 to 13,534 feet. Over 180 miles of constructed trails area available and they are maintained at several levels of difficulty. Most of the area presents a mental and physical challenge to the advanced hiker. Most of the trails within the wilderness end in high valleys , often beside beautiful alpine lakes. Only two trails actually cross the range, although unofficial routes cross some of the high passes.
