Granite Mountain Wilderness

Located in the Prescott National Forest in Arizona.

The 9,700 acres that comprise the Granite Mountain Wilderness are characterized by rugged granite boulders, some the size of a house, stacked one atop the other to elevations that exceed 7,600 feet. Created in 1984, Granite Mountain Wilderness is an easily identifiable landmark located on the outskirts of Prescott.

Campground and picnic facilities are located at the base of Granite Mountain and a trailhead facility there provides easy access to the wilderness.
