Colorado Rivers
Colorado's Rivers offer spectacular scenery, deep canyons, undeveloped wilderness areas, plenty of whitewater excitement and even several stretches of tranquil water suitable for family outings.
Rivers

- Arkansas River: One of the ten most popular rivers in the US.
- Cache La Poudre Wild & Scenic River: clear water, challenging rapids, and beautiful scenery make this a river-runner's paradise
- Colorado River (Upper Colorado): Boating, fishing, and swimming on the Colorado is just a two-hour drive from Denver.
- Ruby Canyon (Lower Colorado): River access to seven spectacular canyons .
- Dolores River: Lower segment is scenic with deep, sandstone canyons. The Upper segment in one of Colorado's most remote river environments.
- Eagle River: An exciting 8 mile raft trip.
- Gunnison Gorge of the Gunnison River: Access to this remote river is by foot or horseback only.
- Lower Gunnison River: Quiet meandering stream through open canyon scenery.
- Lake Fork of the Gunnison River: Both gentle and more demanding rapids through a varied landscape.
- North Platte: cascading through Northgate Canyon, rapids start out tame but end in a rollercoaster ride.
- South Platte
- Rio Grande River: An easy, peaceful float for rafters and canoeists
- San Juan River System: Headwaters among the fourteeners of the San Juans roaring through chasms several thousand feet deep four major forks: Animas, the Piedra, the Navajo, and the San Juan itself.
- San Miguel River: A beautiful, yet not well-known, river run.
- Upper Yampa River: More and more canoeists are learning the joys of floating this flatwater river.
All of the above rivers run through land own by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Further information is available from the BLM Resource Area Offices listed for each river segment. They are an invaluable source of information to help you plan your trip. Names of licensed and permitted outfitters who run commercial trips on these rivers are available from these offices.
