Directions: From Rickreall (6 miles W of Salem) go W on State Highway 22 about 2 miles to refuge on right.

Primary Wildlife: Primary objective of the refuge is the protection and management of wintering habitat for dusky Canada geese. Several species of waterfowl, herons, hawks, quail, shorebirds, mourning doves, woodpeckers, and a variety of song birds frequent the area. 30 species of mammals, including red fox and black-tailed deer. 8 species of amphibians and 10 species of reptiles.

Habitat: 2,492 acres typical of Willamette Valley's irrigated hillsides, oak-covered knolls, and grass fields. Wetlands include Morgan Lake and Baskett Slough.

Recreation and Education: Wildlife observation, study, and photography. Some migratory bird and resident game hunting.

Special Note: Access to the refuge is limited between October 1 and April 30.
