Tishomingo National Fish Hatchery

Directions to Office: From Tishomingo, Oklahoma take State Highway 99 eight miles N, then W
five miles on State Highway 7. Hatchery is located just across Pennington Creek bridge.
Primary Function: Produces 1.7 million channel catfish, paddlefish, smallmouth bass, and striped
bass annually. Primary distribution is to federal waters for restoration, recreation, and research
purposes.
Habitat: 50 surface acres of production ponds, and 181 acres of native grasses, shrubs, and
trees.
Recreation and Education: Fishing in Pennington Creek, and wildlife observation.
Special Note: One of the few public areas accessible to Pennington Creek for fishing and wildlife
observation.
