Directions: Located on the east bank of the Sacramento River downstream from Red Bluff. The salmon viewing plaza can be reached by going E from Interstate 5 on Antelope Boulevard (Highway 36) to Salle Lane. Turn right (S) on Sale Lane at McDonalds and go 2-1/4 miles to the salmon viewing plaza.

Primary Wildlife: Salmon, steelhead, and other nongame fish.

Recreation and Education: TV viewing of salmon may best be observed from September through November from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. -- Operation of the fish trap varies daily depending upon the number of fish, available April through November, Monday through Friday. --The recreational area is normally open year round with limited camping available (for more information 916-824-5196). --24- hour updates on the fish counts at the dam are available by calling 916-527-1408 from April 1 to December 1. --Picnic sites, boat launching ramps and restrooms are provided by the U.S. Forest Service Recreation Area.

Special Note: The salmon viewing plaza is open daily from April through November from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
