Fort Peck Lake
This dam was featured on the cover of the first issue of "Life" Magazine, in 1936. Buffalo, elk, deer, antelope and small game abound at this project in the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge near the Missouri Breaks wilderness area. The largest known fossil beds in the world are found along a portion of the south shore. From Glasgow, 18 miles SE on MT 24.

Libby Dam (Lake Koocanusa)
In a National Forest in a wild and scenic section of northwest Montana, 17 miles N of Libby on MT 37. Forty eight miles of the 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa is in Montana, and the remaining 42 miles extend into Canada. The Kootenai River below the Libby Dam is a blue ribbon fishery.
