Taped narrations of the Park folder, history handout, and two of the nature trail booklets are available for loan at the visitor centers. Mathews Arm Campground has the Traces Nature Trail booklet available on tape. The history handout and nature trail booklets are available in Braille.

For People with Hearing Disabilities

Informative pamphlets, exhibits, and scripts for the orientation films are available at both visitor centers. Five nature trails are self-guiding with interpretive booklets or signs. Evening programs, demonstrations, and guided walks are accessible or accessible with assistance. Some activities may be led by a ranger with a knowledge of sign language. Refer to the Park's free newspaper for specific details.

For People with Limited Mobility

Automobiles
The 105 mile Skyline Drive running the length of the Park is a narrow, mountainous road that provides beautiful vistas and seventy-five scenic overlooks.

Trails
At the present time, there are no trails in the Park designed for those with limited mobility. However, at developed areas (lodges, visitor centers, campgrounds, etc.) there are trails with surfaces that are suitable for short distances.

Limberlost Trail is perhaps the gentlest trail. It is a gently sloping 1.3 mile trail featuring a 5' wide hard-packed green stone dust surface with a less than 8% gradient and benches are at frequent intervals. The trail circles through an old-growth forest of magnificent hemlocks and includes a 65' bridge and 150' boardwalk.

Accessible Buildings
Most public buildings within the Park are accessible or accessible with help and have handicapped parking. Comfort stations are accessible with a few exceptions. Both Skyland and Big Meadows Lodges have fully accessible overnight accommodations.

Campgrounds
Accessible campsites are available at all Park campgrounds. Adjacent comfort stations are accessible, but showers are not at this time.

Picnic Grounds
Picnic sites with parking spaces and comfort stations are accessible at all seven Park picnic grounds.
