The forest also administers the Thunder Basin National Grassland in Wyoming. Near Thunder Basin, you can also visit the 800-foot rock column at Devils Tower National Monument. Nearby towns of the Routt include Steamboat Springs, Craig, Yampa, Kremmling, Walden, and Granby. Medicine Bow is near Laramie, Douglas and Saratoga.
