Stevens Pass lies at the highest point on Washington's Highway 2, halfway between Seattle and Wenatchee. Surrounded by Mount Baker - Snoqualmie and Wenatchee National Forests deep in the snow-blessed Cascades, Stevens is yet another great Washington resort. There is no town at Stevens. Remote Skykomish, Washington, is the nearest civilization, comprising of a few motels, a general store, gas station, and a couple of bars and restaurants. All around there are big views and a real frontier feeling.

Stevens is split into two areas: the front side is well wooded with steeps off Cowboy Mountain and Big Chief Mountain, while the backside Mill Valley area has some wide-open spaces with hidden groves of trees and a constant fall-line. The beautiful view from the top of Stevens' Big Chief Mountain is matched by terrain that offers some serious double diamond trails, wide-open fields, and pockets of insane tree riding. New quad chairs have improved access to the backside and given Stevens Pass the prestige of having the only high-speed quad in the state open for night riding. However, there are also a bunch of those typical northwest double chairs that would go unnoticed on the set of Jurassic Park. A long time favorite of Seattle's families, the improvements and new terrain are now attracting snowboarders from the big city.

The two mountains cover just about every compass point, so almost all snow conditions can be found at any given time of the day. Abundant and frequent snowstorms are almost always the call for Stevens. Being on the crest of the Cascades means that cool air can drift across from the east providing drier snow conditions, otherwise it's healthy doses of Cascade crud.

A rental car is your only transfer option from Seattle. By car: Drive 78 miles east of Seattle on Highway 2 along the Skykomish Valley. From Wenatchee, the resort is a similar distance west on Highway 2.
