Take on the Tetons
Two-Ocean Lake Road
By GORP Expert Mountain Biker Steve Jones
For a shorter ride that the whole family can enjoy, take the five-mile one-way (ten miles total) ride out to Two-Ocean Lake from the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway (Highway 191), just north of the junction with Highways 26 and 287.

Rest your weary wheels
This ride is relatively short in mileage, butlike every ride in Jackson Holelong on scenic wonder. It starts off on pavement (some roads in the area have very little shoulder) but turns onto the unpaved dirt road leading first to Emma Matilda Lake, and then to Two-Ocean Lake.
This is a good place to pack a picnic and park the bikes once you reach the lake. You will no doubt seeand hearall sorts of birds and animals as you sit munching away on your PB&J. My favorite sighting is the red-winged blackbird as it flies over the water's surface snatching up insects.
But, of course, biking is what's best about this route. You won't be challenged too much, which will give you lots of time to think about the incredible forces that put all this beauty in one place.
