Aucilla River

A cold water spring-fed stream on U.S. Highways 27 and 98 southeast of Tallahassee. The best bream fishing is in the spring using beetle spins and redworms fished near the shoreline. Largemouth bass may be caught in the spring months on artificial worms fished near the shoreline.

Lake Miccosukee

This 6,226-acre"lake of grass" is east of Tallahassee located primarily in Jefferson County but partially in Leon County. Reached from SR 59 off U. S. Hwy 90 near the town of Miccosukee. Bluegill are plentiful and can be caught in the spring on crickets and earthworms. The best bass fishing is in the spring, and the most popular baits include spinnerbaits and artificial worms.

Wacissa River

Noted for its clear, cold water, wild beauty and winding course through tall cypress stands. A favorite stream for canoe trips and float fishing. Reached from SR 59 at town of Wacissa. The most successful time for harvesting bass is during the spring and summer months by using artificial worms. Fair catches of bream are taken primarily on worms and crickets.
