MSR SuperFly
By Keith Morton, GORP Gear Expert MSR

MSR SuperFly
Price: $50 ($60 with lighter; $80 with lighter, hanger, and windshield)
Weight: 5.1 ounces
Canister weight and cost: 227g, $4.50

The windshield/heat retainer improves performance, but it's a pity the stove has to be suspended to use this accessory.

The big selling point of this stove is that it fits both Gaz and screw-mount canisters. The connection is a bit fiddly until you realize how it works, but you quickly develop the knack. A small price indeed to pay for being able to use worldwide Gaz canisters as well as the common screw-mount valve canisters with this stove.

The burner is much larger in diameter than any of the others, making it quiet but a bit more wind-sensitive. The flat wire control knob, like that of the Snow Peak Giga, is not as nice to use as a round knob.

High points: Hanging attachment and windshield; can use Gaz and screw-mount canisters.

Low points: A bit"lumpy" when folded.

Testers' conclusions: A good option if you are uncertain about what type of canisters you can obtain or if you want a hanging system for in-tent use.
