Colorado''s most luxurious resort continues growing, with the debut of a real village center. Luxurious lodgings in an elegant and monumental mountain style, fine dining and subdued nightlife are the resort''s hallmarks, but Vail-based skiers commute to ski The Beav''s wide, handsome runs and gawk at the spectacular views. The Bachelor Gulch Express links the former Arrowhead ski area into Beaver Creek, creating a"village-to-village" ski experience. Lift pass also valid at Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin.

Where: 110 miles west of Denver, 25 miles east of Eagle County Airport, off I-70 (Avon exit).

What''s There: 4,040-foot vertical drop, 146 trails (seven specifically contoured for snowboarders), six high-speed quads, three triples, four doubles, one surface lift, three snowboard parks.

What''s New: With significant on-mountain and base-area developments over the last several years, Beaver Creek confined itself to tweaking the terrain, primarily by glading 100 acres in the Beaver Creek-to-Bachelor Gulch area. "Mystic Isles" is a new entry-level terrain suitable for children and new riders, and the resort also boasts one new and one improved intermediate-level terrain park.

Average Annual Snowfall: Beaver Creek receives approximately 330 inches of snow per season.
