National Recreation Trails - Far West


Alaska

Pinnell Mountain Trail, 27 miles long, traverses a series of alpine ridgetops with spectacular views of the White Mountains and the Brooks Range.
Tongass National Forest (AK)
Naha River Trail, rambles for 5 and a half miles through an ethereal rain forest valley. Good fishing trail.
California
Inyo National Forest (CA)
Mount Whitney Portal, designated on 11/16/79 - 3.9 mile (foot trail). Note that only a portion of the trail has been designated as a National Recreation Trail.
Los Padres National Forest (CA)

Modoc National Forest (CA)

Feather Falls - designated on 11/22/78 - 3.5 mile trail (foot, horse, biking)

Sequoia National Forest (CA)
