- Pinnell Mountain Trail, 27 miles long, traverses a series of alpine ridgetops with spectacular views of the White Mountains and the Brooks Range.
- Tongass

- Naha River Trail, rambles for 5 and a half miles through an ethereal rain forest valley. Good fishing trail.
California
- Inyo National Forest (CA)
- Mount Whitney Portal, designated on 11/16/79 - 3.9 mile (foot trail). Note that only a portion of the trail has been designated as a National Recreation Trail.
- Los Padres National Forest (CA)

- Modoc National Forest (CA)
