Forget the boring bus tours, pokey traffic, and windshield views: The best way to really experience a park is by bike. And what better backdrop for your next two-wheel adventure than the mind-blowing beauty of a national park? Choose from mountaintop panoramas and narrow canyons, towering trees and placid lakes.
Although bikers are rarely allowed to ride off-trail or on foot paths in the national parks, it's still possible to find great rides. Here at GORP we hit the books, searched the Web, and interviewed experts on parkland biking. The result? Ten great national parks that also offer great biking.
Before we share our list, let's make one thing clear: The title says GORP's top 10. Not yours. Not your riding buddy's. So if you have a favorite park with super-fabulous biking that didn't make the list, don't grumble about our picksshare yours on GORP. And if you haven't tried any of our ten, well now's your chance!
