Floating offers close-up views of rocky bluffs, caves, springs, vegetation, birds, and other wildlife. A major attraction is the abundance of clear springfed streams with their floating and canoeing opportunities. The Big Pine, Current, North Fork, St. Francis, Black and Huzzah Rivers also offer floating opportunities on the Forest. The Meramec, Current, and Eleven Point rivers offer good canoeing opportunities. And don't overlook the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, which protects the corridors for the Current and Jack Fork Rivers. While not in the forest, the riverway lies between the Salem/Potosi and Doniphan/Eleven Point ranger districts.
